A great preventative against powdery mildew and can also be used to help treat existing outbreaks. PMT works by strengthening the leaf surface so that the mildew is unable to take hold. Used correctly it can halt it in it's tracks. It's completely non-toxic and the fungus will never build any chemical resistance to the product.
Powdery mildew is a fungal leaf disease and can be devastating if left untreated. It is first seen as white, powdery looking spots on the leaves. These spots grow and join together and soon the whole leaf becomes white. If you shake the leaf, you will see a white dust fly off, this powder is the fungus' spores and how it spreads. The parts of the leaf that are white are the main body of the fungal infection. The fungus grows on the leaf and sends root-like appendages into the leaf cells and suck out the cell contents. This kills the cell. As this process occurs, the fungus spreads, killing more and more leaf area until, eventually, nothing is left.
How To Use CX Horticulture PMT
Prevention is always better than cure. If you are in a space that is susceptible to powdery mildew or just want to be extra cautious then we suggest spraying PMT 1-2 times per week. Use 10ml per L of water and spray the entire plant, paying particular attention to the underside of the leaves. For existing infestations use as the same dose but more frequently, where possible try to carefully remove as many of the effected leaves as possible without disturbing the spores. Always spray just before the dark period as you may burn you leaves.
