Premium Brand Diodes

Not 1, not 2, but 5 of some of the very best diodes currently available! All VS3 units use Samsung LM301h 3k + 5k intense white light diodes alongside Osram 660nm Red. This produces a baseline full spectrum. Other 'full spectrum' LEDs often use just one white diode. The rich baseline spectrum (3k + 5k + 660nm) is then mixed with Osram 730nm Far Red and Seoul 395 UB UV-A diodes resulting in a truly superior light spectrum that will drive increased levels of photosynthesis and promote higher quality crops. The presence of UV is proven to increase essential oil production and help to increase resilience from pests and diseases. All diodes are rated at 50000hr.

Even Footprint

Each LED bar has its own micro reflector for controlled light distribution. This helps to channel photons towards the canopy with far greater precision, focus and intensity. Hellion LEDs can penetrate the canopy deeper and give a very even coverage over the entire footprint. There is no need for lenses as seen on other LEDs which will quickly sap efficiency.

How To Use

We recommend hanging your lights 45-60cm from your canopy, however all models can be operated at 30-45cm if dimmed to 75% or less. This 510w fixture will effectively cover 100cm x 100cm.

All Hellion VS3 LEDs are equipped with 3x independent channels (veg, bloom and UV) for complete spectral diversity and control. The VEG channel is full spectrum light, rich in blue. BLOOM is also full spectrum and is rich in red and far red. UV provides UV-A and near blue for a superior finish! This enables the grower to fine tune their lighting to the exact requirements of their plants throughout the different stages of growth. Below we have made some or own suggestions:


Gradually increase the intensity of the vegetative channel as your plants develop. Some UV can help to strengthen seedlings and cuttings.

Vegetative Growth

Blue-dominant spectrum helps to keep plants squat and bushy, making them easier to illuminate efficiently during the bloom phase.

Veg To Bloom

Combining lower bloom with higher UV and high veg can help reduce unwanted internodal stretch. Try 20% more boom if some stretch is desirable.

Increase bloom after the initial development of flowers. the extra red and far red promote branching and help to increase flower size and density.

Additional UV during the final few weeks can help to boost flavours, colours and essential oils. Try leaving all channels on full and raising the fixture 5-10cm if possible.
