Shogun CalMag provides a rich source of Calcium and Magnesium at an optimised ratio. Your plants will never reach their full potential without these two extremely important secondary nutrients. CalMag will help prevent, as well as cure calcium and magnesium deficiencies plus also aid with the transport of nutrients between different parts of the plant.

How It Works

Calcium and Magnesium are key elements for healthy plants and in many cases are usually required in moderately high amounts. However supplementing with them is often overlooked in most feeding regimes and only added in when a plant is deficient. Adding CalMag at this stage will of course help to resolve the problem but in actual fact the issue could have been avoided by adding this additive to your nutrient schedule. Ca & Mg supplementation is particularly important for people growing in coco coir due to way the medium naturally leaches calcium.

Magnesium is an essential component of chlorophyll, which is vital for photosynthesis. Chlorophyll captures light energy, which is used to synthesise carbohydrates; sugars that plants use for food from CO2 in the atmosphere and water taken up through roots. If there is a lack of Magnesium, photosynthesis will slow down drastically, and the energy produced by your lighting system will be much less effective.

Calcium aids in the thickening of cell walls and improves the transport of nutrients throughout the plant, optimising the efficacy of potassium, nitrogen and phosphorus in your base feed. This facilitates the plant to become more robust within its structure, with visibly thicker stems and stronger branches. Moreover, these properties will raise the plants resilience to pests, pathogens and negative environmental changes.

Shogun CalMag contains the following components:

- Nitrogen (2.6%)

- Calcium (3.2%)

- Magnesium (1.2%)

- Iron (0.1%)

The addition of nitrogen helps to balance the calcium and magnesium and assist with uptake. Chelated iron is present to prevent deficiencies in this element which can occur in certain growing conditions and alongside Ca & Mg deficiencies.

How To Use Shogun CalMag

The Shogun feed chart recommends using CalMag throughout the vegetative stage as a root feed at a rate of 0.5-1ml per litre. CalMag can also be used the flowering stage at the same dose if required. We recommend supplementing with CalMag if you are feeding PK additives during the flowering stage as this addition of Ca and Mg will greatly assist in the uptake of these flowering boosters. Start on a low dose and increase as necessary.

CalMag can also be used on any plants showing signs of a calcium, magnesium or iron deficiency, for this we suggest a dose of 1-2ml per litre while signs of deficiency are showing.

Some growers opt to use CalMag as a foliar spray which can be very effective for curing deficiencies quickly. Use at a rate of 15ml per litre once per week and always spray just before your lights go off.

Shogun CalMag works well when combined with products such as Shogun Sumo Active Boost and Shogun PK Warrior 9/18 which make up some of the fantastic range of nutrients & additives available from Shogun.

Shogun CalMag is available in 250ml, 1L, 5L and 10L bottles.
