All Mix is the well-known, heavily fertilised peat-based potting soil from BioBizz. It's one of our bestsellers and it's not hard to see why! As with all BioBizz products the emphasis is on creating high quality organic solutions for your plants and All Mix is no different. The soil contains a blend of peat alongside worm castings, perlite and BioBizz's own Pre Mix fertiliser to kickstart your plants the moment they are planted out. It's also jam-packed with beneficial micro-organisms to help plant performance and emulate a rich outdoor soil like you would find in nature. All Mix contains a high EC value of around 2.4 and is designed to have enough nutrition for at least 2 weeks without the need to add any extra fertiliser, yes that's right you can feed with just water to start with! The high quality organic elements that are present in the blend have a self-regulating system which helps maintain pH to the correct levels, this greatly improves nutrient uptake and prevents deficiencies.

How To Use BioBizz All Mix Potting Soil

All Mix is suitable for most plants and can also be used in irrigation systems. Due to the high EC value some caution should be taken for young plants when first planting out as the mix can be a little too strong for more sensitive varieties. Planting seeds directly into All Mix should also be avoided for this reason. The high level of fertiliser that is present in the soil means there is no need for base nutrients to be added for at least 2 weeks (depending on pot size). Additives and stimulators can still be used and are recommended for even better results.

Taking the time to do correct soil preparation before planting out can have significant benefits and get your plants off to a flying start. This is done as follows. Firstly tip your soil into your chosen container and break up any compacted lumps with your hand. Shake and tap the pot whilst you are filling it to help settle the soil nice and evenly, never press down with your hands to do so as this can squash it together effecting the aeration and drainage. Next, water the soil to moisten it and leave it to stand for 36 hours. This gives the Pre-Mix and microorganisms a chance to activate and start working so the substrate is primed and ready for plants. When you come to planting out you may see that the soil level in your pots has dropped since watering, simply top up with fresh soil if required.

It is important for All Mix to remain slightly warm at all times for best results, if it's too cool the microbial activity slows down which is key for good results. You should also allow the soil to dry to some extent between watering, this allows fresh air to get in and around the root zone. As a rule of thumb when hand-watering we recommend watering your plants until around 10% run-off is achieved. At this point pickup your pot to get an idea of how much it weighs (or actually weigh it if you want to be super accurate!), once the pot drops to around half this weight then you can repeat the watering again. For irrigation and self watering systems adjust feed frequency accordingly to allow some drying periods or add perlite to increase the ability to over-saturate the growing media.

All Mix has been designed to work perfectly with the entire BioBizz organic range of nutrients and they have produced a feed chart specifically tailored to this soil. However many growers also use it with other nutrient brands. It is important to be extra careful during the first 2-4 weeks not to overfeed your plants. We suggest avoiding any base nutrients during this period and stick to just using additives such as a good quality root stimulator and enzyme product.

BioBizz All Mix is available in 50L bags.

Questions & Answers

Ask a Question
  • Will Biobizz All Mix burn seedlings? Should I start plants with Biobizz Light and then transfer into All Mix once established?

    Hi there,

We would advise starting with BioBizz Light mix and then transplanting into BioBizz All Mix or Plant Magic Soil Supreme.

    Kind Regards,
