Grow like a pro with an Opticlimate Air Conditioning System! These water cooled systems require no outdoor unit in order to work and are perfect for people looking for the ultimate stealth setup! The Opticlimate Pro 3 will ensure a perfect grow room environment all year round no matter the weather. This results in better quality plants and bigger yields. Switch to a full closed loop system for unbeatable results or simply add in an Opticlimate to an existing room to gain full control.
The water-cooled version of the Opticlimate provides all the same great features found on the air cooled version but without the need for the outdoor unit in order for it work. Instead of air being used as part of the refrigeration process this unit uses water. It requires a connection to the cold water mains and during cooling will pump water around the system to enable it to cool the air it is blowing into the grow room. As the air is cooled, the water becomes heated and is expelled through the water outlet on the back of the unit. This hot water can then be directed to waste or if preferred connected to various heating systems used in houses or swimming pools! The Opticlimate is fairly straight-forward to setup but we do highly recommend using a person with the necessary experience to connect mains water to the unit.
Once the Opticlimate is installed the unit is very easy to operate and you will soon be experiencing it’s huge benefits! The unit has three sensors (temperature, humidity and light) and a digital control panel which are all connected to the indoor unit. The control panel allows you to set a separate lights on and lights off temperature which can be switched automatically via the light sensor. The humidity sensor has a dial which can be turned according to the target level of humidity for the room. Due to the way air conditioners work, whilst the unit is cooling it will also naturally be dehumidifying the air. For this reason we advise a humidifier may be needed for the lights on period in certain circumstances. The dehumidifier outlet at the back of the indoor unit pumps out moisture it has taken from the room. It requires a 25mm hose to be connected to it and this will allow you to direct any water that comes out of it to a water butt or straight to waste. We highly recommend collecting this water as it will be perfect for use in your humidifier or even as nutrient solution mixing as it will contain little to no PPM. When the lights off period is active the unit will dehumidify as needed whilst also maintaining the desired set temperature. Again, in some circumstances additional equipment may be needed in the form of dehumidifiers during this period. Each Opticlimate also features a set of ceramic heaters which activate when needed to heat the room should the temperature drop below the set temperature. These heating plates can be controlled via the digital control panel and switched off individually or altogether if required.
The rear of the indoor unit features a carbon filter panel. For some closed loop setups this is enough for adequate odour removal, however some growers may opt to include an additional carbon filter in a ‘scrubber’ type setup whereby the filtered air is just pumped straight back into the room or as a more traditional setup with the filtered air being ducted out the room. As the Opticlimate will be taking care of the temperature of the grow room there is no need to over-spec your fans and filters in order to compensate for the heat they would normally be extracting to.
If running a closed-loop setup then CO2 supplementation is essential. For best results a CO2 level of around 1200ppm will ensure all the benefits of carbon dioxide supplementation are achieved. Be sure to check out our range of CO2 products which cater for all budgets and requirements.
The Opticlimate is available in four sizes to suit a range of grow room sizes. As a general rule the lighting capacity of each unit is calculated based on 1x 600w HID light per 1.2m x 1.2m x 2m. If your room is larger than this or contains additional heat sources (such as ballasts in the room) then the unit may need to work harder and not cool as efficiently as it should do. In situations like this we highly recommend choosing the size above where possible.
