After listening to customer feedback, along with the popularity of LEDs such as the Adjusta Watt Retro and Intec we realised there was a great need for a high powered yet compact unit. Step forward...the aptly name OptiGlow Compact! Using the same tech and overall ouput as seen on the standard 720w Core model but in a slightly smaller overall size (95cm x 95cm), this lighting fixture is perfect for growers who in tight spots or just want a smaller light. Just like it's big brother, the Compact has the industry standard efficacy of 2.7µmol/J giving a total PPF of 1944µmol/s, similar or better than most 1000w HID lights but with a fraction of the electrical consumption or heat output.

Features

We feel the OptiGlow range of LEDs are currently the best choice of lighting in terms of performance and affordability. The inclusion of the integrated driver, a feature more commonly seen in far more expensive models immediately makes it a solid choice over similarly priced lighting fixtures that still use a digital ballast to power them. The benefit of using a driver over a ballast is that the LED diodes are powered correctly every time, this not only prolongs their lifespan but also ensures the right spectral output at all times. It can also save heat too. The previously mentioned spectrum has also been slightly adjusted when compared to some other LEDs on the market. We have opted for a slight increase in diodes that emit the red and blue light at either end of the spectrum chart. By doing so means this unit can benefit from a higher µmol output than others of the same wattage, resulting in bigger final yields and quicker growth rates. The full spectrum light, combined with the dimming feature allows the unit to be used from the very beginning of the vegetative phase all the way to the end of flowering. It is also foldable for easy transportation and comes with rope ratchet hangers.

How To Use The OptiGlow Compact 720w LED Grow Light

The OptiGlow Compact LED will perfectly illuminate a 1m x 1m - 1.2m x 1.2m grow space. It can be used once cuttings are rooted or seedling are established if desired. Due to the high output of modern LEDs such as this fixture we recommend starting with a hanging height of around 45cm from the canopy. Whilst there is next to no risk of heat stress on plants, the high PPF can be a little strong from some plants so by starting with a higher hanging height allows them to acclimatise without issues. The unit has four dimming settings; 290w, 430w, 580w and 720w. For young plants always begin on the lowest setting and gradually increase this over the course of a few weeks until the maximum setting can comfortably be used without any signs of stress. For more established plants start around 430w-580w. As the output is increased you can also begin to decrease the space between the light and canopy. By flowering most growers are able to run the unit at full power and around 15-20cm from the top of the canopy.
