Shogun CalMag provides a rich source of Calcium and Magnesium at an optimised ratio. Your plants will never reach their full potential without these two extremely important secondary nutrients. CalMag further enhances the effects of phosphorus and potassium in the later flowering stages increasing the quality and mass of the final product. CalMag aids in the transport of nutrients between different vital parts of the plants, in turn improving resistance to pests and diseases.
How It Works
CalMag is an additive that can be used in conjunction with your base nutrient from the late vegetative stages, through to the flowering stage, just before the final flush. The components of CalMag are:
- Nitrogen (2.6%)
- Calcium (3.2%)
- Magnesium (1.2%)
- Iron (0.1%)
Magnesium is an essential component of chlorophyll, which is vital for photosynthesis. Chlorophyll captures light energy, which is used to synthesize carbohydrates; sugars that plants use for food from CO2 in the atmosphere and water taken up through roots. If there is a lack of Magnesium, photosynthesis will slow down drastically, and the energy produced by your lighting system will be much less effective.
Calcium aids in the thickening of cell walls and improves the transport of nutrients throughout the plant, optimising the efficacy of potassium, nitrogen and phosphorus in your base feed. This facilitates the plant to become more robust within its structure, with visibly thicker stems and stronger branches. Moreover, these properties will raise the plants resilience to pests, pathogens and negative environmental changes.
How to use Shogun CalMag
Shogun CalMag is available in 250ml, 1L & 5L bottles. The Shogun Feed Chart recommends use during the vegetative phase & flowering stage to facilitate nutrient transportation and provide maximum environmental resistance in the plants’ cycle.
We recommend Shogun CalMag is applied alongside your base nutrient, from the late vegetative stages through to the flowering stage. Stop use 1-2 weeks before harvest, just before the final flush.
Mix your base nutrient and add Shogun CalMag at a dose of 1ml per litre of solution, then adjust the pH accordingly. As a foliar feed, fill the sprayer and add 10-15ml of CalMag per litre of water and adjust the pH of the solution to around 6.0. Spray directly onto leaves, however, make sure you do this when lights are off and you have plenty of time to let them dry out before they turn back on. This can be done once a week.
